Focus and Scope

ATMÓSFERA seeks contributions on theoretical, basic, empirical and applied research in all the areas of atmospheric sciences, with emphasis on meteorology, climatology, aeronomy, physics, chemistry, and aerobiology. Interdisciplinary contributions are also accepted; especially those related with oceanography, hydrology, climate variability and change, ecology, forestry, glaciology, agriculture, environmental pollution, and other topics related to economy and society as they are affected by atmospheric hazards.

ATMÓSFERA publishes articles, short contributions and correspondence in English. The submission of a contribution to be considered an article is assumed to indicate that no similar paper, other than an abstract or preliminary report, has been or will be submitted for publication elsewhere. Short contributions should not exceed 1000 words. Correspondence is intended for discussion of papers published in the journal and should not exceed 250 words.

Peer Review Process

The submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by members of the editorial board and/or associated editors. After this evaluation manuscripts could be rejected or sent to peer review with at least two experts. The final decision on the acceptance or rejection of the manuscripts rests with the Editor in Chief and the members of the Editorial Board.

The peer review process is simple-blind.
